I can’t imagine how it would be to be a widowed mother with six children while one of them is giving birth to a new grand-baby boy…..and all the while being thousands of miles away.
Several years ago, Alice lost her husband. Because of her dedication to her faith, Alice decided to temporarily leave everything behind to serve the people on the beautiful island of Fiji. Even though she’s off touching the souls of many, it’s got to be hard not to think about the family you’ve left back home. In fact, if she’s anything like me, I’m sure she’s glued to her computer today waiting for every word. And because of this, I wanted to fill her in on a sweet moment….from my view.
Alice’s youngest daughter, Brennan, gave birth to her first son. And oh how perfect he was….all 5lbs of him. His fresh little feet, and soft skin were entirely too tender for words. But what was even more touching, was to see sisters rally together to help their youngest sister while mom was away. Neither one of them left her side. I walked in to one sister hugging Brennan’s head while the other was tending to visitors to make sure the noise wasn’t too much for Brennan to handle. Many tears of happiness have been shed, and I can guarantee Alice this, they haven’t stopped thinking about her or their sweet father for one second.
Here’s to you, Grandma Alice.
